More than 200 villagers came along to the

and aspirations for the future.

Building and Development
-
I agree with new
housing in the village. If we get a village hall also. I think
shared ownership housing would be a good thing
-
Affordable housing
for the young of the village
-
I agree to building
new houses in Cottingham as long as we get a new village hall
-
New affordable
housing for young people to stay in the village if they want to
-
Affordable housing
is worth our support in its own right. If we fail to initiate a
scheme the possibility remains of developers using it as a sweetener
for major new build schemes (Uppingham have successfully sued David
Wilson Homes for failing to honour this sort of commitment)
-
Children of parents
from the village unable to stay in the village due to executive
priced homes being built
-
I have no criticism
of new houses’ pastiche architecture. At least there is an attempt
to remain in keeping with the rest of the village.
-
No more huge houses
built in small spaces creating ill-conceived haphazard housing
development not to mention building out of character with the
surroundings
-
No more
unsympathetic development in what is a conservation area. We do not
want to be urbanised!
-
Observe current
village envelope – no more whole ‘mini estates’ or large scale
developments
-
No more backland
development
-
No future
development outside existing boundary
-
No large scale
development – infill OK so long as in keeping
-
I think too much
development not in keeping with village (+1)
-
Sewer can’t take
more houses nor can school accommodate more kids
