Middleton Parish Plan

More than 200 villagers came along to the Our Village, Our Future event on 29 and 30 January to find out more about the Parish Plan for Cottingham and to share their thoughts and aspirations for the future.

Village hall and annex

• Village halls – build one good one serving both villages – stop the parochial pursuit of separate, uneconomic halls (absolutely agree)
• Annex should be done up
• Knock down Annex and rebuild it. Suitable for all activities eg. badminton, netball and all ages
• Existing hall not very good
• We have plenty of tradesmen in the village who I’m sure would spare some of their time to help a community build for a new village hall
• A proper village hall
• Rebuild a new hall with sports hall and meeting room so that it’s adaptable for all activities
• Need a village hall where we can have events for all age groups. Seems geared to OAPs
• The same facilities have been around for 10 years. I think something new and exciting needs to be made (age 16)
• Annex bar is inappropriate next to a school
